Restaurant Receipt

It isn’t to be mistaken with the bill. The receipt is issued after the customer pays their bill and serves as proof of payment. Restaurant receipts must include a line for customers to hand-write in a tip for the staff.

What to Include

• Coupons applied (if applicable);
• Date and time of sale;
• Discounts (if applicable);
• List of purchased food items and their associated prices;
• Order or table number;
• Payment method (cash, check, credit card, phone number);
• Restaurant name, address, and phone number;
• Server name;
• Subtotal;
• Tax rate (if applicable);
• Total tax due (if applicable);
• Total amount due;
• Tip; and
• Total amount paid.
